Help Us Make 1000m of bunting to Decorate Sherborne

On Saturday 18th June, Sherborne will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday with a series of events from 2pm.

We are trying to make up to 1000m of bunting to decorate Sherborne for the event. On Saturdays 21st, 28th May and 4th June we will be holding bunting making drop in sessions for you to help us.
So far we have made 300m with the help of the WI, Leweston School, Sherborne Girls School and the Sherborne Beavers, but we need more.

Could you spare us half an hour or so? If so please pop in any time on either  21st, 28th May and 4th June, to cut, pin or sew.

If you are unable to help but have any donations of red, white or blue fabric, we would be very grateful.

The bunting will be on display from the 9th June.

Sherborne Queen Elizabeth Day – Saturday 18th June

The event will start at 2pm at the top of Cheap Street, with a parade from various organisations and community groups in Sherborne. They will be themed to events in the Queen’s life.

Follow the parade down to Pageant Gardens, where from 3pm there will be live music, organised by Abbey104 , featuring Sherborne Town Band, The Sherborne Philharmonic Choir, and various other performances.

Also in Pageant Gardens there will be a Story Telling Tent and Craft activities run by ArtsLink, various food and drink stalls and a raffle in aid of The Yeatman Hospital,  and other charitable organisations.

Pick up a treasure hunt quiz (suitable for adults and children) to win vouchers to spend in Sherborne shops donated by the Sherborne Chamber of Trade.
